Privacy Policy

Nectio ("we", "our", "the app") is a mobile application developed by ESB Studio that records lectures, transcribes them in real time, and translates the transcript into your chosen language. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Audio Data
- When you tap Record, the app captures audio from your device microphone.
- Audio is streamed in real time to Deepgram (our speech-to-text provider) for transcription. Audio chunks are processed and discarded immediately — we do not store audio recordings on any server.
- The resulting text transcript is stored only on your device (in local storage).
Translation Data
- Transcribed text is sent to Google Cloud Translation API for translation into your chosen language.
- Google processes the text to return a translation. We do not store your text on our servers.
- Google's data handling is governed by Google Cloud Terms of Service.
Purchase Data
- If you buy lecture credits, the transaction is processed by Apple (via the App Store) and validated by RevenueCat.
- RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier and purchase receipt. No personal information (name, email) is shared.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Location data
- Contacts or address book
- Browsing history
- Advertising identifiers
- Any biometric data
The app has no user accounts and no login. There is no way for us to identify you personally.
3. Where Data Is Stored
- Lectures, transcripts, language preferences, and credit balance are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We have no access to this data.
- No cloud sync. If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed.

5. Children's Privacy
Nectio is intended for university and college students. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us.
6. Your Rights
Since all your data is stored locally on your device:
- Access: Open the app to see your lectures and settings.
- Delete: Delete the app to remove all data permanently.
- Portability: Your data never leaves your device (except for real-time processing as described above).
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
